In this episode, Jim and Derek are joined by Dac and David to discuss how the machines get the image data for our bodies and ascribe those to us in the Matrix. Then, we debate the ideal bonus limb and where it should go on our body.

I like how this Matrix discussion is basically the humans deciding how you will eventually program the machines to program the humans inside the Matrix. I bet the machines are listening, Right. Now! 0_o
Also, you talk about why they give humans this world. Right now in our world, they actually use VR devices on cows that are stuck in a pen but they see fields and sunshine to make them happier and they produce more milk!
So technically, we are using testing 0.1 of the Matrix on cows right now!
I think if we are talking about limb alterations/changes, I’d probably want to go for hands for feet/arms for legs. There have been *so* many instances of this in science fiction (one of the most famous being the Quaddies from the Vorkosigan saga) and in most cases, it seems like the humans involved adjust well enough, with their palms becoming logically calloused/etc.
The argument made in the novel and other pieces that use this *for* the alteration is that it’s infinitely more useful to have 4 hands rather than 2 in weightless space!
