Jim has both a scientific and educational background. Having dabbled in teaching and museum work, Jim has encountered a wide array of wild scientific questions and enjoys answering them to the best of his ability.
Derek
(He/Him)
Derek has a background in English and philosophy, and is always eager to puzzle his way through a question. He’s also naturally inquisitive and has a knack for cutting to the meat of a question to find a satisfactory answer.
Rotating Panel
These hosts comprise the “third seat” on the show. Each member of the rotating panel brings something unique to the table thanks to their varied backgrounds.
Adam
(He/Him)
Adam has a great deal of knowledge about medieval weaponry, and has a strong background in how weapons are properly handled. He also brings a lot of knowledge about anime, theater, and great movies to the table.
Addison
(He/Him)
Addison, the “Lord of the Dance,” is an expert at dancing competitively and casually, and has even instructed others on the subject! He uses lateral thinking to bring a quick wit and a sharp observation to every question.
Aly
(She/Her)
Aly, Pokémon Master extraordinaire, has a strong background in Roman and Egyptian history as well as anthropology. She can use her knowledge to bring historical or cultural context to questions, giving her a unique perspective on many topics.
Andy
(He/Him)
Andy is full of nerd knowledge and adds a healthy dose of gaming, sci-fi, and other geeky topics to his answers. Does he know everything about Star Wars? Seems likely.
Anne
(She/Her)
Anne is an actor, a literary buff, and an all around fantasy fan. She’s able to give any question a good medieval spin, providing classic insights into modern problems.
Big A
(He/Him)
Big A has a strong background in computers and technology, giving him insight into all things tech. He also loves video games and is particularly good at working in a gaming angle to a question.
Brian
(He/Him)
Brian works in prop departments in the Atlanta film industry. He has a lifelong love of fantasy novels and games, and has been forced to learn about electronics for work. This gives him quite a breadth of knowledge to pull from!
Catherine
(She/Her)
Catherine is filled to the brim with theater knowledge. She uses her theatrical, pop culture, and logistical knowledge to pick apart questions and find new angles from which to attack questions.
Chris
(He/Him)
Chris has a solid background in computer science and programming, and also a deep knowledge of tabletop gaming lore and mechanics. His sense of humor is also slightly warped, so he fits in perfectly with the rest of us!
Dac
(He/Him)
Dac’s rich musical background makes him perfect for tackling questions related to music, sound, and the cultural and scientific underpinnings of both. He also semiprofessionally dabbles in video game creation, theory, and playing, so he’s the go to on any and all gaming related questions.
David
(He/Him)
David is Derek’s brother and also has a strong background in English. He’s also heavily into theater, giving him a well-rounded field of literary knowledge that he can bring to bear on questions, particularly ones that have to do with myths and legends.
Jeremiah
(He/Him)
Jeremiah is a comedian by trade, bringing his sharp wit and lateral thinking to our questions. He’s also a fan of the nerdy pursuits, and has knowledge of comics, roleplaying games, and esoteric nerd nonsense. And he definitely didn’t go back in time to the dawn of human history at any point.
Joe
(He/Him)
Joe is filled to the brim with biology and computer sciences, particularly microbiology and IT respectively. He’s also deeply into sci-fi and giant robots, being an expert on all matters Gundam. All this gives him a leg up on questions dealing with the hard sciences.
Joel
(He/Him)
Joel is a pastor at Christ United Church near Cleveland, OH. Aside from his religious background, he also has a strong knowledge of literature and film studies, giving him a philosophical edge to his answers. And he has an Indiana Jones hat!
Jonathan
(He/Him)
Jonathan, armed with a degree in physics and the crappiest job in the world, is filled to the brim with esoteric knowledge. He enjoys nerdy things as well, particularly various roleplaying games, giving him a great footing with fantasy questions as well.
Justin
(He/Him)
Justin, “allegedly Bigfoot’s best friend,” studied anthropology and works as a science educator. He brings his knowledge of social sciences and his deadpan humor to every question, leaving no tangent left unexplored!
Kelly
(She/Her)
Kelly hails from the west coast, where she works in the animation industry. Her knowledge of corporate structure, pop culture, and the animation business are unparalleled. And she was a contestant on Jeopardy!
Marcus
(He/Him)
Marcus has a varied background, having dabbled in journalism, pharmaceuticals, and engineering. He brings all of this along with a sardonic attitude to each and every question.
Ryan
(He/Him)
Ryan has a strong theatrical background, having both directed and acted on stage many times. He uses his knowledge of the theater, as well as his sci-fi interests, to attack questions from many angles.
Sierra
(She/Her)
Sierra has dabbled in everything from theater to restaurant work to fitness, and brings in bits of all of her fields to each question. She’s quite well traveled as well and can add new perspectives as a result.
